Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has charged the new Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the Republic of India, Major-General Chris Sunday Eze (Rtd), to be guided always by the virtues of honesty, integrity and the rule of law in the discharge of his duties.

who holds a concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh and Nepal by the Enugu State
government at Nike Lake Resort Hotel, Enugu, on Sunday.

He explained that the ambassador’s appointment is further proof that President Muhammadu Buhari has high regards for Enugu State and is confident that its sons and daughters have the capacity to contribute towards the rapid development of the country.
“We are thankful and proud that our son has been offered another great opportunity to boost his God-gifted capability to preserve and protect the image of this country outside its shores after his military career.
“Therefore on behalf of the government and the people of Enugu State, I congratulate Major-General Eze (Rtd) most sincerely for this our great achievement. We assure him of our firm support and solidarity for we know that he will represent us very well while in India,” he stated.
Earlier in a remark, the secretary to the Enugu State government, Dr. Gabriel Ajah, said that Major General Eze (Rtd) has distinguished himself in diverse human endeavours as a gallant soldier, author of books and in politics.
He explained that the government will do all it can to support and ensure his success while in India.
Many dignitaries from Enugu State including the former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani; former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo; director-general of the Voice of Nigeria, Hon. Osita Okechukwu, eulogised the ambassador, noting that given his wealth of experience there is no doubt he would perform remarkably.
Commending Governor Ugwuanyi for his relentless drive to develop the state they charged other leaders to emulate his humility and inclusive governance.
