The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) will on March 16 hold the 29th Enugu International Trade Fair with the theme, “Engendering the Competitiveness of Nigerian Products in the Global Market”. The fair will end on March 26.
This was made known by the ECCIMA president, Sir Emeka Udeze, at a pre-event briefing held recently at the ECCIMA secretariat complex, Enugu.
He said a number of business organizations as well as government agencies have indicated interest to participate in the fair. According to him, “the fair is being packaged in such a way that it will have meaningful and positive effects and outcome for all stakeholders, particularly for exhibitors and participants, especially in the concerted effort to return the economy towards the path of growth and development.”
Sir Udeze, a pharmacist, disclosed that ECCIMA’s online platform has been re-tooled for registration, exhibition and marketing. On the importance of the fair, he said that “the Enugu International Trade Fair’s cutting edge remains the efforts towards enhancing the special designated area in the exhibition of new products, prototype, innovations and research findings for commercialization”.

The idea, he added, was to deepen technological advancement and industrialization by bringing researchers, business people and industrialists together. “The aim is to advance the course of the development of the small and medium enterprises which is key to our national development”, he said.
Udeze disclosed further that the chambers has put necessary arrangements in place for a successful fair, adding that officials will be visiting some organisations and institutions soon for sensitization and coordinating of their outreach marketing programme.
Turkey, Ghana, Senegal, Indonesia and South Africa are listed as countries which have indicated interest to participate in the fair.
The ECCIMA president is optimistic that “the 29th Enugu International Trade Fair by the grace of God is going to be an exciting and result-oriented 10 days”.
