The 30th edition of the Enugu International Trade Fair will commence on April 5th. This was made known by the director-general of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), Mr. Emeka Okereke.
According to him, the fair will hold between April 5th and April 15th with the theme: “Promoting and Enhancing Value Addition in the Oil and Non-Oil Sector for Robust Economic Growth and Development”.
Speaking on the level of preparations, the director-general said the chamber has been doing its part by providing basic amenities for exhibitors, but added that the federal government’s intervention was still required to enhance the infrastructure.
He added that the completion of the complex will boost the country’s economy and encourage foreign investors to do business in the country.
Okereke lamented that for the last 10 years, the chamber had been appealing to the federal government to complete the Trade Fair Complex to enhance their operations.
”If foreign exhibitors come to the state and the infrastructure is not in place, it does not tell a good story about the country. So we are hoping that the federal government will complete the Trade Fair Complex soon,” he said.
