Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO), which had been in the doldrums for over a decade has resumed operations, making its first public appearance at the ongoing 30th Enugu International Trade Fair .
The company’s sales manager, Mr. Olalekan Sanyaolu, said that operations resumed after they secured a partnership deal with a Chinese auto manufacturer, Dongfeng Trucks.
According to him, “When we were looking for a technical partner, Dongfeng was looking for a partnership in Nigeria. From our own research on their vehicles, we saw that they met the standard”.
Pointing out that ANAMMCO had always been an assembly plant, Sanyaolu said the company produce medium and heavy duty trucks and took off in 1981.
“We have some companies that have been using these vehicles,” he explained, adding that they currently assemble 7,500 trucks annually.
