We’ll not fail you, Ugwuanyi, assures

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has pledged that he will not fail the people of Enugu state when he commences his second term administration.

He also pledged to continue to ruler with the fear of God, noting that his reelection could not have been achieved without the willing support of the Enugu electorates.

Ugwuanyi made the pledge, Sunday, when a group of his campaign supporters, Voters Support Group, VSG, held a Thanksgiving Mass for the his second term reelection.

Represented by his Deputy, Lolo Cecilia Ezeilo, the Governor noted that the Peoples support for his reelection was so enormous that they forget they were in an opposition party in Nigeria.

“I thank the people of Enugu state for their support that to an extent that we don’t have political party affliction in the state. Enugu state was adjourned the most peaceful state during and after election and that would not have been possible without the people. Our pledge is that we will govern with fear of God and we will not fail you,” Ugwuanyi said.


In his homily, the Parish Priest of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Federal Government College Enugu, Rev Fr Uchenna Nnajiofor stated that in the humility of Jesus Christ’s submission to death for emancipation of mankind, the world was saved.

“It is with such humility that we know how Governor Ugwuanyi as God fearing Man, a peaceful man, a bridge builder and we pray God to sustain the quality in him and his deputy as good mother with all vetures of loyalty.”

Coordinator of VSG, Chief Ignatius Ishienyi said that one of the reasons for the Thanksgiving was because the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Enugu as as first in free and fare elections in Nigeria.

“That’s why we decided to thank God for what he did for us in all the elections in the state, particularly the governorship election. We went round the 17 local government areas of the state, begging all to get their PVCs and it helped us allot in the election,” Ishienyi said.
